My name is Leona. I'm a Dutchy (and proud) and I grew up in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside alongside my wonderful family and treasured friends. People like to call me Clarkie, Lee, El, Elsie, Little Loner...
I'm around 5ft 7 ('snack size' - as some like to call me), blonde haired and blue eyed. Fairly Casper-
like (sometimes even a little translucent, but we can blame that on the English weather), carefree and a happy soul. Big dreams, big ambitions and a lot of love for the world and everything in it.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a pirate. Without the fighting and pillaging of course... Just sailing around the beautiful Caribbean on an awesome ship drinking rum. Yup. My brother and I used to spend hours in the garden stick fighting and pretending to be pirates. Oh the joys of being a kid... Growing up though, I realised that dream wasn't quite attainable. So I opted for the next best thing: being an international movie star. Because, you know, that's totally attainable...
All joking aside, I absolutely love the craft. I could spend every waking
(and sleeping) minute on a film set and be a very happy chappy. There's
something about film that makes me feel like I'm completely coming alive;
it makes my heart soar and my soul sing. Speaking of souls, I have always
been a very sensitive one. I sense and feel people's emotions as if they were my own.
It can be a tribulation at times and sometimes I think I need to 'toughen up' to the world and all its hardships, but I also consider it my little superpower. The ability to empathise with people's circumstances and experiences on such a personal level means I'm able to reflect truth within my acting. In some ways, it's a little like a form of therapy for me too. I get to express so many different thoughts, feelings and emotions and attach them to fictitious characters, not myself. It's very freeing.
One of my main goals in life is to touch the lives of millions through film, and to inspire people to put kindness, generosity and love first. I believe that acting can help provide the necessary platform of world-wide influential status through which I can try to inspire change.
